DARPA-BAA-12-20: Extended Solids, Response Date 5/22/2012

DARPA is soliciting innovative multidisciplinary research proposals to develop and demonstrate synthesis methods of materials with superior properties (>1.5X over SOA) that currently can only be made using ultrahigh pressure techniques, such that processing under conditions amenable to production scales (<2000 K and 0.5 GPa) and stability under ambient conditions is achieved. Extended solids are polymorphs/phases of simple molecules that are currently formed under ultrahigh pressure conditions where strong intermolecular bonding and tight crystal packing can be induced, leading to dramatic changes in physical, mechanical, and functional properties.

DARPA-BAA-12-31: Butyrylcholinesterase Expression in Plants, Response Date 4/26/2012

DARPA is seeking innovative research proposals that will demonstrate the ability to produce a recombinant butyrylcholinesterase (rBuChE) using the Nicotiana benthamiana plant-based expression platform that has the same pharmacokinetic profile as a plasma-derived human butyrylcholinesterase (hBuChE) butyrylcholinesterase. The funding is intended to establish the technical precedence for the use of the plant platform to generate a rapid and scalable form of pre-exposure therapeutic bioscavenger against organophosphate nerve agents.

DARPA-RA-11-52: Cyber Fast Track, Response Date 8/03/2012

This Research Announcement (RA) seeks to revolutionize cyber technologies by promoting non-traditional technical opportunities. The Cyber Fast Track (CFT) program will engage numerous cyber related efforts across the spectrum of computer and network operations (CNO) to demonstrate that cyber efforts can be accomplished rapidly and cost effectively. This effort intends to extend the existing performer base to include non-standard, cutting edge organizations and individuals throughout the cyber community, thereby strengthening the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Cyber Security capabilities. One goal of this program is to demonstrate the ability for cyber projects to be performed at an asymmetric advantage in time, cost, and contribution of the efforts in comparison to more traditional applied research areas. This will apply to both performance of individual efforts and to the contracting required to engage performers in said efforts.

DARPA-BAA-12-17: Crowd Sourced Formal Verification (CSFV), Response Date 3/20/2012

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of crowd sourced formal verification of software. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems.
